Upcoming 2009 Events:
May 2009:  Kathleen Ryan was selected to be the Director of Protocol for the Department of the Air Force.   This is a full time position and her work as consultant is on hiatus.

January 2009:  Kathleen Ryan was chosen to be a Trustee for the Gilmer Institute of Learning which is affiliated with the Society of Government Meeting Professionals.  www.sgmp.org 
  
August 2009:  Kathleen Ryan is the conference chairman for Protocol & Diplomacy International Protocol Officers Association (PDI-POA) annual education forum to be held in Washington DC.  www.protocolinternatioal.org

Past Events and Training:
April 2009:  Taught for the Protocol Officer Training Course of the The Protocol School of Washington. 

March 2009:  Conducted a Protocol and Military Customs & Courtesies workshop for the National Reconnaissance Office's Women's History Month program. 

March 2009:  Presented Global Business Etiquette and Communication Styles seminar for the Annual Educational Conference for the Old Dominion Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals in Richmond, VA.

February 2009:  Teaming with Harlan Lee & Associates and working with the Australian Embassy,  provide logistical conference support for the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament conference with senior level attendees from 15 nations.

January 2009:  Teaming with Harlan Lee & Associates, conducted protocol training for a Missile Defense Agency (MDA) unit at Vandenberg AFB, California.

November 2008:  Conducted "Dine Like a Diplomat" dining tutorial for the Emmanuel Bible Church, Student Ministries Program for both parents and youth group.

October 2008:  Teamed with The Protocol School of Washington to present "Dine Like a Diplomat" training for the U.S. Navy Flag and Executive Training Symposium.  Over 100 new Rear Admirals and spouses attended as well as the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) for the US Navy. 

October 2008:  Conducted two seminars on Protocol and Military Customs, Courtesies, and Traditions for senior civilian executives at the Senior Executive Career Planning Seminar for the Department of the Navy. 

September 2008:  Kathleen Ryan recognized as "Planner of the Month" for the National Capital Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals. www.sgmpnatcap.org

September 2008:  Helped organize volunteers and worked with seating guests for the Pentagon Memorial Dedication. 

September 2008:  Conducted protocol and ceremonies training for the 480th Intelligence Group, Langley AFB, Virginia.

September 2008:   Teaming with Harlan Lee & Associates,  conducted protocol training for the Huntsville AL protocol office for the Missile Defense Agency. 

August 2008:  Presented The Military Diplomat at the annual education conference of Protocol and Diplomacy International - Protocol Officers Association in Kansas City, MO.  Over 120 international protocol officers attended.

August 2008:   Kathleen Ryan is voted to fill the position of Vice President by the Board of Directors of Protocol & Diplomacy International Protocol Officers Association.  www.protocolinternational.org

August 2008:  Conducted two half-day protocol training programs for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and Defense Logistics Agency protocol offices (DLA). 

August 2008:  Teamed with The Protocol School of Washington to present "Dine Like a Diplomat" training to the U.S. Air Force Senior Leader Orientation Course.  Over 100 new Brigadier General Officers and civilian equivalents attend. 

July 2008:  Conducted a protocol training seminar for the Customer Relations Team, Integrated Defense Systems, The Boeing Company, Arlington, VA. 

June 2008:  Kathleen Ryan selected as the recipient of the 2008 Members Choice Award for the National Capitol Chapter of The Society of Government Professionals.  There are over 700 members in the chapter.

June 2008:   Presented two seminars (Business Etiquette and Dining Skills) at the National Convention of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) in Dallas, TX.

June 2008:  Presented  a seminar on Business Etiquette for the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders at Georgetown University.

April 2008:  Conducted one-day protocol training workshop for the 480th Intelligence Group at Langley AFB, VA.

April 2008:  Presented a seminar on "Success in the Global Business Arena - Global Communication Styles and good practices" for the National Capitol Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals. 

March 2008:  Presented "Dine Like a Diplomat" to U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Officers.  

March 2008:  Presented seminar on professional business etiquette for the Women's Law Society, University of Washington D.C. 

February 2008:  Conducted training for the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) Studies and Analyses Center focusing on business and office etiquette.

January 2008:   Engaged by The Protocol School of Washington to teach at the Protocol Officer Training Course (POTC) for 2008.  The course is taught quarterly. 

December 2007:  Kathleen Ryan and Harlan Lee & Associates, LLC provide one-day protocol training workshop for the Missile Defense Agency Protocol Office in Huntsville, AL.  

October 2007: Pesented seminars on Professional Business Etiquette and Military Customs, Courtesies, and Traditions to senior civilian executives with the Department of the Navy. 

October 2007:  Presentes training seminars on International Protocol for the Master's program of the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. 

ctober 2007:  Presented Business Etiquette seminar to students majoring in Destination Management at George Mason University.

October 2007: Harlan Lee & Associates, LLC (HLA) was awarded a contract by the Missile Defense Agency to provide protocol and event management services at MDA locations across the U.S.  Kathleen Ryan is teaming with HLA to provide protocol training for this multi-year contract. 

September 2007:   The Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force hosts a Global Air Chiefs Conference in Washington D.C.  Over 800 guests from senior leadership in the Department of the Defense, corporate leaders and international delegations from 84 countries attended.  Teaming with Quality Support Inc, Kathleen Ryan was the Lead Protocol Officer for the week-long event which consisted of seven different conferences and eight VIP socials and ceremonies. 

August 2007:  Teamed with The Protocol School of Washington to present "Dine Like a Diplomat" training to the U.S. Navy Senior Leader Orientation Program.  Over 50 new Rear Admirals and spouses attend. 

August 2007:  Kathleen Ryan awarded the "Board of Directors Achievement Award" from the Protocol and Diplomacy International Protocol Officers Association at the annual conference in Houston TX. 

July 2007:  Teamed with The Protocol School of Washington to present "Dine Like a Diplomat" training to the U.S. Air Force Senior Leader Orientation Course.  Over 110 new Brigadier General Officers and civilian equivalents attend. 

June 2007:  Presented a program on Business Etiquette at American University in Washington D.C. for the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders. 

May 2007:  Engaged by Protocol Solutions, LLC, to provide protocol support for a former Ambassador's private event.

April 2007:  Provided a one-day protocol training workshop for the protocol office of the National Security Agency (NSA).

April 2007:  Presented a program on Professional Business Etiquette to the Society of Government Meeting Professionals National Capital Chapter.

April 2007:  Kathleen Ryan recognized as "Planner of the Month" for the National Capital Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals.  (There are over 700 members in the chapter).

April 2007:  Presented two half-day international protocol seminars to the Policy and Plans Division of the U.S. Customs and Border Control Agency.

March 2007:   Quality Support Inc. wins US Air Force contract to provide conferncing support for the October 2007 U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff's (CSAF) Global Air Chief Conference (GACC).   Kathleen Ryan teamed with QSI to provide protocol support for the confernce.     

February 2007:  Provided one-day protocol training workshop for the State of Delaware Governor's staff and senior leadership.

January 2007:   Engaged by The Protocol School of Washington to teach at the Protocol Officer Training Course (POTC) for 2007.  The course is taught quarterly.  

November 2006:  Presented a program on Business Etiquette to the Washington Convention and Tourism Council (WCTC).

November 2006:  Planed reception for InterContinental Hotels Group and it's Holiday Inns Brand.   Over 120 government meeting and conference planners attend the event at the Galleria in Washington D.C.

October 2006:   Nationally televised ceremony of the U.S. Air Force Memorial Dedication in Washington D.C. with President Bush presiding and 3,500 VIPs and 20,000 guests attending.   Kathleen Ryan served as the Deputy Protocol Lead for the three-day event. 

September 2006:  Presented program on International Protocol for the Master's program of the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. 

August 2006:  Presented program on U.S. Flag Protocol at the annual conference for Protocol and Diplomacy International Protocol Officers Association (PDI-POA) in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

August 2006: Teamed with The Protocol School of Washington to provide training for the U.S. Air Force's Air Force Materiel Command Squadron Commander course.   Courses taught quarterly through 2007 in Dayton Ohio.

April 2006:  Engaged to provide protocol support to the Global Travel and Tourism Summit held in Washington D.C. 

March 2006:  Kathleen Ryan awarded certification as a Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) through the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP).

February 2006:   Engaged by The Protocol School of Washington to teach at the Protocol Officer Training Course (POTC) for 2006.  The course is taught quarterly.  

February 2006:  Kathleen Ryan and Harlan Lee of Harlan Lee & Associates, LLC, presented a program on Protocol and Ethics at a meeting of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals, National Capital Chapter.

January 2006:   Contracted by Protocol Solutions, LLC and The Webster Group to provide protocol support for the U.S. Air Force Memorial Dedication in Oct 2006. 

December 2005:  Engaged by the Protocol School of Washington to collaborate with a training team develop the Protocol Officer Training Course (POTC).
